The Federation of Korean Associations in China, the Korea Youth Association Council, Kim Gu Film Culture Industry Co., Ltd., and the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote Korea–China cultural exchange and cooperate in the production of the film Shanghai Star.
This agreement was pursued with the goal of strengthening cultural solidarity and expanding historical understanding between Korea and China, and was established to jointly promote various cultural, educational, and youth exchange projects centered on the film Shanghai Star.
The participating organizations agreed to cooperate in the following areas:
▲ Operation of Korea–China cultural exchange programs
▲ Promotion of youth historical and cultural experience activities
▲ Cooperation in the production and promotion of the film Shanghai Star
▲ Collaboration with domestic and international cultural events and special screenings
▲ Promotion of joint projects based on international networks
The film Shanghai Star is a project planned based on the history of Korea’s independence movement and the spirit of solidarity between Korea and China, and it is expected to portray the stories of independence activists such as Kim Gu and Yun Bong-gil through contemporary visual content.
A representative stated, “This agreement is significant not only as a film production partnership, but also as an international cultural exchange project that shares the values of history and culture with future generations. We expect it to contribute to cultural communication and the promotion of friendship between Korea and China.”
